CYJ Mission

Our Mission

Camp Young Judaea Midwest (CYJM) inspires Jewish children of diverse backgrounds
to thrive in a joyful, tight-knit community that is passionate about Israel and Judaism.

Our Values

  • We are Young Judaea. We are proud to be part of the oldest Zionist youth movement in the United States. The five pillars of Young Judaea – Zionism, Jewish Identity, Pluralism, Social Action, and Peer Leadership – infuse everything we do at CYJ Midwest.
  • We focus on an individualized approach to camper needs while fostering mutual respect, friendship, leadership and development.
  • Campers and staff come to our pluralistic camp from different Jewish backgrounds, and learn, grow, play and pray together.
  • Experiences based in Jewish values, ideas, and texts are part of camp’s culture, whether it is at a Shabbat meal or on the tennis court.
  • We are an inclusive community, welcoming Jewish campers of all backgrounds, races, gender identities and sexual orientations.

CYJ Midwest was founded in 1969 and is located on 80 beautiful acres on the shores of Lake Stratton, in southeast Wisconsin.
